Speaker 1: 00:44 Hello, My name is Lisa Woolfork. I'm a wife, mother, professor, Black Lives Matter organizer in Charlottesville, Virginia. I've also been sewing for the last 25 years. I am the convener of Black Women Stitch, a group of fantastic black sewists. And we are pleased to introduce you to Stitch Please. Stitch please is the Black women Stitch podcast. Black Women Stitch is a values led project that centers black women, girls and femmes in sewing. Stitch Please podcast lifts up and celebrates black women, girls and femmes as we practice the principles of radical self love, black liberation and social justice. We are the sewing group where black lives matter. And unlike mainstream sewing circles, we see color. And we see you.

Our first episode, will be dropping next week and the topic is BackTo School sewing. As we head into early fall, this is a great time to discuss back to school sewing. So on the socials on Instagram at the Black Women Stitch page, and on Stitch Please on Facebook. Let us know what your back to school traditions are. Do you sew for your kids for back to school? did your parents sew for you for back to school? what does Back To School mean for you now, if you're no longer in school or have school-age kids? Do you lean forward into a fall wardrobe? These are some of the things we could chat about during the Instagram Live chat, which will take place next Thursday at 3:00 PM eastern standard time. That's next Thursday on Instagram live, the Black Women Stitch page 3:00 PM on Thursday. See you then and look out for the first episode of Stitch Please. The Black Women Stitch podcast dropping next week.

Hosted by Lisa Woolfork
