[00:00:18] Lisa Woolfork: Hello, my name is Lisa Wolf. I'm a wife, mother, professor black lives matter organizer in Charlottesville, Virginia. I've also been sewing for the last 25 years. I am the convener of black women's stitch, a group of fantastic black women's sew at. And we are pleased to introduce you to stitch, please. Stitch, please is the black women's stitch podcast.
[00:00:46] Lisa Woolfork: Black women's stitch is a values led project that centers black women, girls and fems and sewing stitch, please podcast. Lifts up and celebrates black women, girls and fems. As we practice the principles of radical self [00:01:00] love, black liberation and social justice. We are the sewing group where black lives matter.

Lisa is a fourth-generation sewing enthusiast who learned to sew while earning a PhD in African American literature and culture. She has been sewing for more than twenty years while also teaching, researching, and publishing in Black American literature and culture.
